Salice and Saint Piran - The Future's Bright

Born in Italy, ridden in the UK.

We are delighted to welcome iconic Italian brand Salice as a sponsor in this historic year for Saint Piran.

Speaking of history, Salice has been making performance eyewear for over 100 years from their base in the shores of Italy’s Lake Como, and the company is still headed up by a member of the founding family, Anna Salice. Their blend of heritage, sense of place and ultra-modern design is a perfect match for Cornwall’s first pro cycling team.

The first product of this new relationship is Salice’s exclusive Saint Piran race glass for our Men’s and Women’s teams, together with a range of leisure glasses for team management.

Fiona Mamby, head of the UK distributor for Salice, loves our style and presence:

“Saint Piran was our first choice when we looked to work with a UK Professional team. What could be better - cool Italian styling and the unique brand that is Saint Piran?

We have commissioned a very special Saint Piran glass for the team, which is now available for pre-order ahead of general release, which helps Saint Piran with its financially sustainable model.”

Saint Piran Team Principal, Richard Pascoe said:

“We had many criteria when choosing a sunglasses partner. We are very strong on equipping our riders with the best products, something we put ahead of any immediate financial incentives. Salice have worked hard to provide us with our own glass range, the rest is history.”

Senior rider, Steve Lampier added:

“I have chosen a specific colourway for the glasses, to represent Cornwall and Saint Piran. You can probably guess the colours: black, white and a gold lens – Cornish through and through.”

Jenny Bolsom of Saint Piran Women’s Team said:

“We have our own white frame / blue lens glasses which colour match our kit – what more can I say? Thank you Salice!”
