Professional cycling has to work together to make a difference to the environment and to communities. We are definitely not alone in our work and indeed, many teams are head of us in progress which is to be applauded. The UCI’s signature to the United Nation’s Race to Zero is a landmark for the sport but to make a difference we have to work together and listen and learn from each other.
We are working with a range of suppliers such as Pacenti Cycle Design and Schwalbe to improve our circular economy and reaching out to other teams to understand their work in this space. Our riders and staff are also key to this and we have built clauses into their code of conduct to help ensure the right mentality when it comes to sustainability and volunteering/community investment.
The Saint Piran family is also committed to working with our colleagues across local councils to deliver sustainable change in the community. Our partnership with Redruth Revival in the development of the bank building is one sign of that but we are still very early in this work.
