Battle on the Beach 2026

Battle on the Beach bills itself as the UK’s biggest off-road cycle race, and it’s almost certainly true with over a thousand starters and 800 finishers across all the categories. The race takes place in the breathtaking Pembrey Country Park and on the historic Cefn Sidan Beach in South Wales. Three laps and 45km. Each lap begins with a 5-kilometre section along the beach, followed by an exit over the dunes and a return via a mix of singletrack and doubletrack. After passing through the arena, riders head back to the beach to begin the next lap.

Team member Morgan took part again this year.

“A beautifully brutal race and a true local icon, always drawing a strong and competitive field. With no grid start, it was chaotic from the gun, positioning near the front before leaving the beach was absolutely crucial. In the end I finished in the top 100 out of over 800 riders, improving by 69 places from last year, which I’m really proud of. This was also my first cycling race back since injury, so the main goal was simply to get out there and enjoy it. That said, I was pleasantly surprised by how strong I felt, definitely a step up from last year, and it showed that I’d learned from previous mistakes. I’m taking away a lot of positives from this one, along with a renewed confidence in my ability going forward.”
