1-2 for Saint Piran stagiaire riders Jack Rootkin-Grey and Harry Birchill

The best way to celebrate is with a teammate.

Joining Saint Piran Professional Cycling Team just over a week ago Jack Rootkin-Grey crosses the line whilst teammate Harry Birchill raises his arm in the air finishing 1-2 in their first outing for Saint Piran at the St Ives Road Race near Huntingdon. Both riders have come from British Cycling and have been under the guidance of Tom Stanton and Matt Brammeier. Team owner, Richard Pascoe said “Racing at Union Cycliste Internationale Continental (UCI) level throughout Europe is crucial for any British rider wanting to develop. We believe in human endeavour and that hard work pays dividends long term the same as in the business world.“

Matt Brammeier explained, “We are delighted to have secured the option to race for the rest of the season with Saint Piran it enables the young riders to be in a Continental team and is the next step on their road to becoming world-class riders.”

Steve Lampier our Sports Director said, “Adding quality riders to a squad is so beneficial as it makes riders more competitive for selection something which has followed me in my career and I’m so pleased we are able to replicate that”.
