BIO

I started with triathlon and did an Ironman in my first proper season of triathlon, but gradually favoured cycling. I initially did more long-distance cycling events, and got into cross triathlon representing GB at AG level in European and world championship events gaining a bronze, silver and gold medal. This really sparked my interest in MTB’ing and I got into XC racing, swiftly getting my elite race license. I am a physiotherapist working in the NHS and have my own business ‘Aspire Physiotherapy’. I teach Pilates, which I love; and recently became a qualified bike fitter. I am also in the process of finishing my Level 3 ABCC cycle coaching qualification, which will enable me to offer coaching alongside all of this. I really enjoy helping others to achieve their rehab and cycling goals; so, feel very lucky to be able to do this in my role as a physio, coach, bike fitter and Pilates instructor! I have a huge passion for the outdoors and adventures whether that be locally, or further afield. I enjoy having fun and adventures with friends such as bike packing, open water sea swimming, trail runs, stand-up paddle boarding, hikes, climbing, van adventures; and anything else outside really! I also enjoy photography and getting creative with arts and crafts when I have time

Cycling aspirations

I am due to have surgery this year so my focus will be on recovery and getting back to racing. I have therefore had to accept my goals will be slightly different than previous years. I would really like to achieve a top 10 in a National XC race this year towards the end of the season post-surgery. I am incredibly grateful to St Piran for their support through this, as it has enabled me to stay focused, during a very unsettling time. Of all the many events and races, I have competed in over the years; getting through the surgery and back to racing will be my biggest challenge yet, and to have St Piran’s backing and kindness at this time is very special. I am super excited and motivated to work through the challenges of my recovery to get back to what I love, with even more strength and resilience.

Longer term I am keen to focus on developing myself as an MTB Marathon racer and gain top 10 in the MTB marathon races nationally and internationally. I am also keen to do more ultra /self-supported bike races the Highland trail 550 is high on the list, as well as various other gravel bike adventures!
