The race is part of the UCI Europe Tour and will be televised by Eurosport this will be a tough opening test for Saint Piran who face some of the world’s best teams at World Tour level including Arkea, Alpecin, Cofidis, Intermarche, Team DSM. Amongst the Pro Tour teams that stand out include Lotto Destiny, UnoX and Total Energise.
With Julian Win as DS who has lots of Continental experience and a strong lineup featuring early season winner Tyler Hannay alongside Bradley Symonds, Rowan Baker, Dylan Hicks, Harry Birchill and James McKay. Key to our success is road captain Alex Richardson who is mentoring and guiding on the road.
“Being 200km and featuring some pave it’s a tough opening race especially with these teams already having six or eight races under their belt after a successful sustained training camp programme. Saint Piran has a European focus this year and we will race in France, Holland, Belgium, Norway, Greece and as far afield as the Far East.
We are not only expanding our program for the benefit of the riders but also expanding our outreach for our partners. We have to build conditions for the riders if we want to compete on the international stage. It’s early season but we have to find out where we are as a team.” - Richard Pascoe
“Getting recognised in Europe is testimony to how far the team has come. There are some stand out invitations this season for Saint Piran.” - John Trott
“Getting stuck into races is what we are about and with a larger number of younger riders this year it boxed well for us as a team” - Julian Winn
