Harry Birchill Extends His Contract With Saint Piran

A resounding success on the road, when we stop and reflect, he has only been racing on the road for 18 months; we must be in awe of his progression. It's a lot to take on, with new performance coaching and lifestyle changes associated with being on the road as opposed to the off-road trails, making for significant adaptations for any new road rider. Harry has settled in so well to these changes and has delivered stunning performances and fulfilled team duties for Saint Piran throughout 2023.

There are many highlights; he was narrowly pipped by Jack Rootkin Gray at the year-end in the U23 category for the British Cycling season's results, finishing 2nd overall. He completed several pro series races and was ranked 5th in the UK, along with a victory in the Ryedale Grand Prix—some standout moments.

“The aim for 2024,” says Harry Birchill, “is to build toward that world tour contract. We are planning some races which suit my style of riding, working closely with our in-house performance coaching team. Holohan Coaching has been one of the most significant steps in my career. In addition, the team provides the best family environment with a focus on winning and cohesion. It’s also rumored we have more overseas stage races in 2024, so I’m keen to build without overdoing the early-season training as I did in 2023. We have two road captains in Alex Richardson and newly signed Harry Tanfield, which adds a new dynamic for next year, and I’m up for putting myself forward as a vice-captain.

I’d like to add thank you to those that adopted me in 2023 and have plans to add some more personal touches to my 2024 adoption."
