Saint Piran x Tour of Britain - Kernow Bys Vyken

Saint Piran went head-to-head with the world’s best teams at this year’s AJ Bell Tour of Britain. The 8-day stage race was sadly cancelled after 5 stages – a decision which Saint Piran whole heartedly supports. It is with a heavy heart we return to Cornwall as it has been quite simply a stunning team performance from Saint Piran with some amazing standout individual performances.

Our results were testimony to a massive step up in performance by the team. The notable results were as follows:

-          Stage 2 - A podium with Adam Lewis with the Adyen Combativity award after a day in the breakaway

-          Stage 3 – A podium with Alexandar Richardson winning the Adyen Combativity award along with a third-place finish.

-          Stage 4 - Jack Rootkin-Gray placed 9th in GC in the stage

-          Harry Birchill and Jack Rootkin-Gray placed in the top 10 best British rider category overall.

Directeur Sportif, Steve Lampier, and Performance Director, Liam Holohan set out daily plans for the team and knew we could expect something special this year. What we have done is gain the respect of the world’s biggest teams with our attacking style and clever race craft. With the added addition of recent signings Alexandar Richardson, Jack Rootkin-Gray and Harry Birchill we have certainly moved up a gear.

Recent signing Alexandar Richardson comments “Coming from a hugely successful professional team, Alpecin Fenix, I am amazed at the team spirt, professionalism and drive to make Saint Piran succeed. With Saint Piran showcasing what they could do with 3rd place it bodes well for the future.”

The team is in its 7th year we are unique as we have no advertising and sponsorship on our jersey and have recently announced we are set on reducing our carbon footprint along our journey to net zero.

As a team, we rely heavily on partnerships with organisations, and we would like to personally thank all our sponsors who have invested in the team and continue to support the team moving forwards.

Team Owner, Richard Pascoe “Our success has been attributed to our partners. It is, without doubt, those that who invest with Saint Piran are seeing the fruit of that and we would like to thank each and every one of our partners that have supported us. We are about fan engagement delivering best practices and currently showcasing our journey to NetZero

Finally, team owner Richard Pascoe adds “I cannot thank the riders, staff, and supporters enough for the drive and enthusiasm of the team. We’ve come a long way in a short amount of time and it’s our grassroots to podium approach which I believe sets us apart. Kernow Bys Vyken
