Saint Piran wins back-to-back titles at the Totnes Vire 2 day in 2018 & 2019

Steve Lampier takes Saint Piran’s first season win with the overall in the prestigious SW race Totnes Vire. Repeating Will Harper’s victory for the team last season, Lamps took victory in the opening hill climb TT on Haytor by .126 seconds from Peter Kibble of the Wales Racing Academy. Stage 2 at the Torbay Velo Park saw the team defend Lamps’ slender lead from the front, with him crossing the line in 4th. On Stage 3, the 110km Road Race in South Brent, the team once again defended the jersey and overall lead with real professionalism. The top 10 riders were separated by just 30 seconds, so not a easy task, but the boys were remarkable and Lampier finished off all the hard work by taking the overall victory. “So happy to take the win for a second time in my career and the second in the team’s history. I was surprised by the TT result which put me in the lead” said Steve. He also went on to say, “ The lads were incredible all weekend - I couldn’t have done it without them. The younger development guys like Joe and Alex learnt a lot, and Cam and Jake, along with Ross Holland our friend, did an awesome job” 📸martin smith
