We are delighted that Saint Piran’s Women’s Tean will be riding Pacenti wheels for the 2023 season.
From Saint Piran’s perspective, the timing of the deal is perfect. Saint Piran Team Principal, Richard Pascoe said: “We have been looking for a wheel partner for some time now. So when we stumbled across Pacenti, whose UK base is just over the border in Devon, we quickly realised they had something special to offer us as a team. Several big-name brands have courted Saint Piran recently and we had been tempted by their offers. The name of the brand was not our top priority: it was quality, reliability and building a partnership that would contribute to a secure future for the team.”
As Pacenti are a smaller specialist brand, they don’t have huge marketing budgets to throw around. Preferring to work on quality of build and performance, they have quietly crept up the ranks of wheel-builders. Pacenti’s first initiative was to give us a wheelset to ride; they believe in their products and wanted to make sure the team felt that what they could offer was going to deliver for the riders.
Having a wheel company like Pacenti involved with the team is a real asset for the riders. Being able to work with the builders and have a relationship on the development side is so valuable. Pacenti wheels are truly pushing the development side with a wider internal hookless design. This dedication to the future of performance was a big factor for Saint Piran.
For Pacenti, as a growing brand, the resources required to sponsor a team are a big ask. As Pacenti CEO, Luke Humphreys says: “We are delighted to build wheels for riders’ to race at such a high level. The feedback received from them so far gives credibility to our years of dedication and hard work. We have always worked on the key principles of building wheels that perform and are durable. We build wheels for riders because we are riders as well and we know what a good wheel feels and looks like. To attract a team like Saint Piran is the ultimate validation of the quality and performance of our product. We were attracted to the idea of supporting Saint Piran as we feel that they have the right values. The team wants to see cycling culture grow and is invested in that future. We love everything cycling - not just racing - so these values align perfectly with our own.”
