Testimonial - Alex Fanshawe

Over the last two seasons Saint Piran has offered me a fantastic platform from which to chase a professional contract whilst also pursuing my university education. Being based at Exeter University allowed me the ability to train full time but the opportunity to ride for Saint Piran meant I had the chance to put that training to good use in national and international races, something that many teams wouldn’t be able to offer.

Sadly as my time at university and as an U23 has come to an end, and whilst I have given it my all the results haven’t been what is required to break into the next level. I have therefore accepted that the time has come for cycling to step back in my priorities as I pursue another career. I am therefore heading to King’s College London to study for a masters in Geopolitics. I would like to thank everyone at Saint Piran for their support during the last two years, with particular thanks to Ricci and Steve. I look forward to taking all the skills I have learnt through cycling forward whilst maintaining links with Saint Piran, a fantastic project that allows riders like me to chase their dream in an area of the country where that opportunity is often harder to come by.
