Warren DAVIES - Trax Media
Hello I’m Warren a published freelance cycling photographer based near to the cycling heartland that is Ilkley in Yorkshire.
My work has been featured in publications such as Cycling Weekly.
Although these days I’m predominantly cycling orientated my roots can be found firmly embedded within motorsport. This is where my thirst for high-octane sports photography really began. On the gravel roads of a Cumbrian forest with rallying or trackside with Formula one and British Touring Car racing.
My love for cycling photography really took hold after attending, as a spectator, the 2014 Tour de France Grand Depart on my home roads of Yorkshire. Those crowds, that excitement, that colour, that noise. I was hooked.
I now aim to convey those feelings I first felt in 2014 through my work. To show the determination, grit, power and sheer emotion that we don’t always get to see with the naked eye due to the blur of speed. The camera tells a story and post-race shots convey joy; exhaustion; frustration & exultation that we can’t express with words.
A picture paints a thousand words.
When I’m not behind a camera I’m a keen cyclist myself, although a camera of some description is always with me as living on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales my rides tend to take me through some truly stunning landscapes.
