BIO

Cycling was first a form of active recovery and a way of staying disciplined after a chronic ankle injury left me immobilised for over eight months. I then got inspired to race by watching my boyfriend’s hill climbing success and the level of pain and determination he put himself through to reach his goals. The thing I love about cycling is the solidarity aspect and being able to switch off from the world. Normalised power types of rides are something I love. I really enjoy being able to go hard up the punchy hills and cruise to recovery before hitting it hard again. Cycling has given me some great memories, riding up Cap de Formentor will always stick with me as one of my favourite days, it’s just a stunning road. The atmosphere at the National Series, especially the circuit series, is up there as well. It just blows you away. I’m looking forward to putting all the hard work from winter to use in 2024.

CYCLING ASPIRATIONS

I’m looking forward to racing with and against very talented women at National Series level. I had some good results towards the end of 2023 and there’s some courses that really suit me, so it’ll be great to test myself and see what I’m capable of.

Experience

  • Saint Piran Pro Cycling - 2022 – Present

  • Previously, I've mainly stuck to local races, although Capernwray was my first ever road race which literally threw me right in the deep end from the off. In 2019 I came 2nd for the North East at Regionals in my first year of racing whilst representing my local club Blaydon CC, and went onto to win the title the following race season. I got my first crit win at Prissick which gained me my Cat 2 licence quite early on.
