Saint Piran WRT Rider, Christina Wiejak, Competes in the Cyclo-Cross National Trophy Series
Off-Season - what’s that?
Whilst, most of our riders are enjoying some well-deserved time off or beginning to prepare for the 2023 season - our talent Saint Piran Elite Women’s team rider, Christina Wiejak, has been competing in the Cyclo-Cross National Trophy Series. With her most recent race being Round 5 at the Rolls Royce Leisure on the 16-17th December we caught up with Christina to see how it went!
Challenging conditions meant for a challenging race.
Christina explains “It was not a good race for me at Round 5 of the National Trophy CX. I really struggle racing on ice (ice covered the entire course) and with no places to put down any power, I struggled to make up any lost time. It was disappointing and frustrating to put in my worst performance this season, but with such a varied season, we can’t love them all! I’m hoping the mud will come back for the final round and the National Champs in the New Year. I’m happy with where my fitness is, I just hope I can show it!”
Christina will be in action next, in the new year for the final round of the National Trophy Cyclocross from the 7-8th January at Cyclopark. The whole of the Saint Piran team wishes her the best of luck - and we look forward to seeing what she can achieve in the final round.
