Today is St Piran’s Day, when we celebrate the patron saint of Cornwall and of tin miners. It was tin that transformed the fortunes of Cornwall, and the St Piran flag – a white cross on a black background – represents a seam of tin running through granite rock. Our Saint Piran team jersey carries the same iconic white-on-black design, a reflection of our proud Cornish heritage.
So it’s fitting that we have chosen today to launch our new members’ club, Saint Piran CC. The club is for all those who want to back Saint Piran’s ambitions, with proceeds helping to fund the ambitions of our race teams.
