Harry tanfield

I’ve always cycled from a young age and began competing in the youth categories. I’ve been part of the Great Britain development team as a youth and junior rider and represented Team GB internationally on the road. Since becoming a senior rider, 10 years ago now.. I’ve raced in many countries across the world and been fortunate enough to represent Team GB in World, European and Commonwealth games over the years.

I enjoy travelling and exploring new places, mostly through cycling but also outside of the sport. Riding in the World Tour for a couple of years provided a lot of this and many different experiences both on and off the bike. When I’m not at home or racing I love spending time in the Netherlands and Belgium and learning about the different cultures.

Cycling aspirations for 2024

- Coming into Saint Piran as an older experienced rider, I want to share this with the team, helping to bring on the next younger generation of riders. Helping to progress the team along with my own leadership and communication skills. I certainly want to win some bike races as well and I know that here I will have the support and opportunity to do so.

Impact of Saint Piran

- The growth of the team from a small club team team only a couple of years ago, to now what is the most successful team in the U.K. As well as been highly regarded across Europe, speaks volumes to the effort and energy in which the management and long term partners of the team have committed to the project.

Having watched the team grow from the outside, it feels special to be a part of this journey and how it can help to nurture that talents of young riders in the U.K. Giving them the exposure they need by racing in Europe to one day turn professional on the highest level.
