BIO
I started my journey into cycling at the age of 8, introduced to the sport by my dad. We would regularly go mountain biking to Cannock Chase at the weekends. My love for this grew throughout the year, I got my first road bike for my 9th birthday and began racing almost immediately. I then predominantly raced on the mountain bike until I was 18 where I turned my attention to racing on the road and becoming the best that I could be.
Growing up I was massively inspired by the Cav & Wiggins era from the 2008 Olympics onwards. With one of the greatest inspirations being the 2009 Tour de France, going out to Monaco to watch the Prologue, Cav going on to win in Paris and Wiggins finishing 4th on GC. From that day on I wanted to do what I could to experience racing at this level for myself.
CYCLING ASPIRATIONS for 2023
My aspirations for 2023 are to convert the lower podium positions that I have had this season into more wins. I would like to get my first win out on the continent too. Then go onto excel as a team off the back of the greatness that we have shown this season.
IMPACT OF SAINT PIRAN
Saint Piran has had a big impact on me, I was born in Truro and lived in Cornwall until I was 5 so being part of a Cornish-based team is great. Then being able to race my first Tour of Britain back in 2021 on essentially home roads, racing past where I went to school for a year, through the village we lived in and having family out along the route was a truly amazing feeling.
