Saint PIran Contributes to Cornwall's City of Culture Bid
Cornwall is among the eight finalists for the 2025 City of Culture
Every four years a city - or from 2025 a region - is awarded UK ‘City of Culture’ status for a calendar year. During that year, the successful bidder hosts cultural festivities through culture-led regeneration. It’s an opportunity to bring communities together, build local pride, develop new partnerships, and attract tourists from across the UK and beyond. It is an opportunity to celebrate local culture with a programme of events that is ambitious, inclusive, and inspiring.
For the first time, regions have been able to apply and Cornwall was among the record 20 areas to throw their hats into the ring. The City of Culture designation incorporates everything from music and heritage to sport, and Saint Piran is delighted to be part of Cornwall’s bid.
Saint Piran team principal, Richard Pascoe said:
“Cornwall is a unique region, and Saint Piran embodies its spirit of endeavour and an ethos of excellence. We were approached by the producers of the promotional video who wanted to use our film of young riders on the roads of Cornwall. Of course, we said yes!
“We are delighted with our part in the film and will continue to promote the City of Culture bid - both in person and through our online channels.
